About the Role
A physical security and access solutions provider is seeking a skilled Automatic Door Technician to install maintain and repair automatic door systems across commercial industrial and institutional environments. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently in the field.
Technicians will be responsible for ensuring automatic door systems operate safely efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities
Service locations throughout Long Island and the greater New York metro area as needed
Install maintain and repair automatic door systems in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines
Conduct site visits to assess installation requirements and system conditions
Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues
Test calibrate and verify proper operation and safety compliance of automatic door systems
Replace defective components including motors sensors switches and control panels
Program and adjust system settings such as motion sensors timing mechanisms and access control interfaces
Collaborate with clients to recommend appropriate system solutions and configurations
Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of installations repairs and maintenance activities
Stay current with advancements in automatic door technology and industry best practices
Follow all safety protocols and job site regulations
Requirements and Skills
AAADM certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification through employer-sponsored training
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical or mechanical systems preferred
Proven experience as an Automatic Door Technician or in a related field
Strong understanding of automatic door systems and components
Knowledge of electrical circuits wiring and low-voltage systems
Familiarity with manufacturer specifications and installation standards
Proficiency with tools and equipment used for installation and repair
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety and procedural guidelines
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and site personnel
Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand kneel or work on-site for extended periods
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Hourly pay: $30.00 $40.00 per hour (based on experience)
