Assistant General Manager
Cook County Illinois Full-Time $75000 - $90000 Annually
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This is a high-impact role at the center of daily operations leading service developing your team driving sales and protecting the guest experience. If you lead by example hold high standards and love the hospitality industry we want to meet you.
Lead the Floor
- Be present visible and actively leading service during every shift.
- Touch tables support the team in real time and ensure hospitality standards are upheld.
- Lead pre-shifts line checks and daily manager huddles.
Develop the Team
- Recruit hire train and develop restaurant staff.
- Hold team members accountable to performance and service standards.
- Manage staff schedules in coordination with the General Manager.
Drive Operations
- Maintain 24-hour sheets and stay 72 hours ahead in operational planning.
- Conduct facility walk-throughs and escalate maintenance needs.
- Contribute to and review the daily manager log.
Manage Financial Goals
- Help achieve targeted sales goals.
- Manage budgets and daily tip records.
- Collect and report guest feedback.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience required preferably in restaurant operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to reach bend and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurants operating area.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in multi-concept or growing hospitality groups.
- Background in staff development and training program implementation.
- Comfort with reservation management platforms (OpenTable SevenRooms).
