The HVAC Technician will perform preventative corrective and predictive maintenance in a safe efficient and professional manner. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems including ACUs AHUs heat pumps VAVs DDC controls and ventilation systems.
The technician will conduct system testing equipment rounds and data analysis to ensure proper functionality. Experience with chillers boilers and kitchen equipment is a plus. Additional responsibilities include evaluating system performance maintaining a clean work environment and supporting facility operations while adhering to all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance installation troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems
Read and interpret blueprints schematics and sequence of operations
Monitor building management systems (BMS) and equipment performance
Operate refrigerant recovery systems vacuum pumps and charging equipment
Analyze system issues determine root causes and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate service reports logs and documentation
Track inventory of filters belts refrigerants and spare parts
Ensure tools and work areas are maintained in safe clean condition
Assist with major repairs and collaborate with maintenance teams
Follow all OSHA safety standards and complete job hazard analyses
Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma required
HVAC technical certification or state-approved license preferred
Experience
Experience working on commercial/industrial HVAC systems
Knowledge of chillers and chilled water systems preferred
Certifications
Valid drivers license required
EPA Universal Certification required
Technical Skills
Experience with CMMS systems (Corrigo preferred)
Comfortable using mobile devices (tablets smartphones)
Additional Skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Ability to read technical documents and write reports
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Spanish language skills are a plus
