Private Family in Locust Valley NY Seeking Property & Maintenance House Manager (Hands-On Estate Role)

Position:Full-Time Live-Out Property & Maintenance House Manager (Hands-On Estate Operations Role)
Schedule:MondayFriday approximately 9am5pm with flexibility required for occasional evenings weekends and events during busy household periods (especially summer)
Salary:$100000$130000 per year may be flexible depending on experience
Start Date:May 25 2026 (with potential earlier onboarding for transition and move-in support)


About the Family

A warm and welcoming private family relocating from California to Locust Valley NY is seeking a reliable and hands-on Property & Maintenance House Manager to oversee the daily operations upkeep driving and functionality of their large estate. The family is moving into a fully renovated 13000 sq. ft. residence and is currently building their household team. They value professionalism discretion initiative and long-term commitment. They have had prior staff for 15 years so they value long-term experience.

Children: Three children (ages 20 18 and 15) no childcare required
Home Size: 13000 sq. ft. residence with outdoor areas and multiple structures
Pets: Two friendly dogs (Goldendoodle and Cavapoo)
Household Staff: Housekeepers and laundress


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation maintenance and smooth functioning of a large private estate
  • Hands-on property upkeep including light repairs troubleshooting and general maintenance oversight
  • Coordinate and supervise vendors (landscaping pool service HVAC electricians cleaners contractors etc.)
  • Manage outdoor spaces including covering/uncovering furniture seasonal setup and general exterior readiness
  • Perform light exterior maintenance (e.g. power washing basic repairs organization of outdoor equipment)
  • Ensure all household systems and property elements are functioning properly and efficiently
  • Drive principals for errands appointments and frequent airport/city runs using family-provided vehicle (Cadillac Escalade)
  • Run errands and support day-to-day household needs as required
  • Support household organization and ensure the property is consistently well-maintained and guest-ready
  • Act as a problem-solver and go-to resource for household operational issues

This role is best suited for someone practical proactive and mechanically inclined who is comfortable working in a dynamic family-oriented environment. The family is specifically seeking someone trustworthy steady and service-minded with a no task too small mindset. A calm fun and professional demeanor and strong problem-solving ability are essential.


Requirements

  • Prior experience in estate management property management maintenance or similar hands-on private service role
  • Strong references from private households or estate environments
  • Legal to work in the United States
  • Drivers license and experience driving clients
  • Comfortable driving a large vehicle (family provides Cadillac Escalade)
  • Strong practical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-traffic active family household
  • Professional discreet and reliable work ethic
  • Flexible availability for occasional weekends or events as needed
  • Pet-friendly household experience preferred
