Mobile Engineer (HVAC/R / Facilities Maintenance)
Summary:
The Mobile Engineer is responsible for operating maintaining troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment across multiple sites. This role requires strong technical ability in at least one skilled trade (Electrical HVAC Plumbing/Piping or Central Utility Plant Operations) along with working knowledge of other systems. This is a hands-on position supporting commercial building operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance monitoring and repairs on mechanical plumbing structural furniture fire/life safety and control systems to keep facilities operating to standard
Travel between multiple locations to support facility operations and equipment performance
Handle preventative maintenance service requests inventory control and coordination of contracted services
Inspect clean calibrate and replace components on HVAC and related systems to maintain optimal performance
Take equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation
Follow procedures for safe handling storage and disposal of hazardous materials
Maintain a clean safe work environment and follow all safety protocols
Conduct regular checks of tools and equipment inventory
Oversee and evaluate work completed by outside contractors for quality and cost
Identify safety risks and take corrective action to eliminate hazards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
57 years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial maintenance
Experience maintaining and repairing building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing)
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose system issues and implement repairs
EPA 608 Type II Certification required
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Valid drivers license required
Professional Engineer () license not required
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA 608 Universal Certification
Trade school training in electrical systems refrigeration or HVAC systems
This role is suited for a skilled technician who is comfortable working independently traveling between job sites and handling a wide range of maintenance tasks in a commercial environment.
