Job Description for business Analyst for Transmission Setup Management system (TMX)
Role Overview
The Business Analyst for the Transmissions Setup Management System (TMX) will play a critical role in driving enhancements integrations operational stability and modernization efforts across TMX a key workflow application built on Appian. This role will collaborate with business stakeholders engineering teams QA operational partners and the Appian Platform Team to deliver features identified in the application Roadmap including integration expansions process automation monitoring improvements and quality engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Gathering & Roadmap Execution
Analyze and translate application Roadmap initiatives including AXWAY/B2Bi integration SNOW Change Creation application enhancements on Appian application and actionable requirements.
Engage business partners to refine requirements for/as per application Roadmap.
Work with Appian developers to align functional needs with platform capabilities and future roadmap direction.
2. Business Process Improvement & Failure Remediation
Analyze existing TMX processes to identify bottlenecks and failure points ( flow approvals notifications).
Drive remediation of business process failures ensuring better workflow efficiency and reducing operational risks.
Propose improvements aligned to Capability Enhancements & Operational Resilience Tracks.
3. Integration Analysis & Support
Support technical and functional analysis for integrations flagged in the roadmap:
AXWAY/B2Bi integration
ServiceNow integrations (for change creation)
Internal systems and monitoring points
Work with teams to validate integration logic exception handling and data consistency across systems.
4. Monitoring Verification & Production Readiness
Contribute to Monitoring & Automated Production Verification adoption to improve application reliability and incident detection.
Perform readiness checks and functional validation for deployments migrations platform upgrades and capacity improvements.
5. Quality Engineering Testing & Release Support
Participate in testing phases such as:
o End-to-end APV (Automated Production Verification)
o UAT for feature releases and roadmap enhancements
o Define test scenarios write business-focused acceptance criteria and coordinate validation with business testers and SQM teams.
6. Risk Governance & Compliance Support
Analyze and document requirements related to:
Strengthening system controls
Risk governance
Audit and compliance gap closure
Data governance and lifecycle management
Support remediation initiatives tied to platform modernization security vulnerabilities and access management.
