Job Summary

Purpose
The Safety Supervisoris responsible foroverseeing and managing safety operations programs and personnel within assigned business unitsin Renewables Utilities role ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations promotes a strong safety culture and leads incident prevention initiatives. The Safety Supervisor supervises and develops safety professionals collaborates with operations and senior leadership and serves as a key resource for safety program administration and continuous improvement.

Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities i.e. those which are basic necessary and an integral part of the job are indicated below:

Leadership and Supervision
  • Supervise develop and manage safetyteam(s)within assignedareaof responsibility (Renewables Utilities etc.)to ensure effective administration of company safety procedures processes training andincident prevention efforts
  • Provide mentorship coaching and performance management to safety team members
  • Model innovative and effective management practices that maximize workforce performance accountability and motivation whilemaintainingmorale
Program Management & Compliance
  • Lead teamsin managing compliance with company programs and incident prevention effortsin order toachieve corporate safety goals
  • Maintain corporate safety culture by overseeing safety and health programs conducting work area assessments and ensuringcompliance with corporate safety standards across business units
  • Ensure compliance withCal/OSHA federal state local and utility organization regulations;identify investigate document and recommend resolution of hazardous conditions; verify actions are completed
  • Exercise authority to change and/or adjust work procedures asrequiredto ensure the safety of affected employees and thegeneral public
Incident Prevention & Investigation
  • Proactivelymanageinjuryillnessand incident prevention initiatives including conducting thorough investigations completing required documentation and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
  • Ensure personal injury and property damage incident investigations forms reports and processes meet safety program policies procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Risk Department to coordinateand oversee return-to-work programs; ensure employee adherence to program guidelines
Training Development
  • Plan develop implement and conduct safety training programs for employees including craft safety orientation and regulatory compliance training
  • Identifyareas requiring preventative safety measures and develop targeted training interventions
  • Provide strategic vision for creating safe work environmentsthroughinitialwork area assessments and development ofappropriate trainingprograms
  • Assis in training personnel on equipment policies procedures and hazards
  • Participate in pre-job and post-job review meetings to address project and customer safety requirements and issues
Specialized Program Oversight
  • Monitor in-house evaluator training and continued education to ensure compliance
  • Ensure Operator Qualifications (OQ) staffmaintainsrequired program accreditations with compliance companies including HCSS Gold Shovel ISNVeriforce ITS NCCER UPRR etc.
  • Stay current with industry standards and regulatory changes affecting OQ programs
Stakeholder Relations & Communication
  • Develop andmaintainpositive working relationships with field operations vendors suppliers regulatory agencies utility organizationscontractors clients and industry peers
  • Facilitate communication on safety policies procedures and standards throughout the organization
  • Communicate safety metrics and performance indicators to General Superintendents Project Executivesand Area Managers
  • Conduct employee/craft/inspectorjob-walks and issue various permits asrequired
Administrative Management
  • Manage administrative organization and documentation including safety files records reports department budgets site-specific safety submittals permits and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Ensure all safety-related policies and procedures are current accessible and properly maintained
  • Assistin managing departmental budgets and resource allocation

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelorsdegree in Occupations Health/Safety or related field or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
Experience and Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum8-10years of progressive experience in safety management within construction utilities or energy sectors
  • Demonstrated experience with operator qualification programs and OSHA compliance requirements
  • Proventrack recordmanaging safety programs in multi-state operations
  • Background inthefollowing business area(s): solar construction underground utilities gas distribution or energy storage

Specific Job Requirements:
  • Ability to be a vocal and charismatic Leader
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug alcohol and background investigation
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information andsuccessfully avoidconflicts-of-interest

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry safety practices processes standards technology equipment methods etc. and their impact on safety activities

Equipment Used Physical Demands and Work Environment

Equipment Used:
  • General office equipment telephoneautomobile personal protective equipment (safety glasses hearing protection gas detection equipment) when visiting utility construction sites and substations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and workenvironmentcharacteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Sitting forlong periodsworking oncomputeror attending meetings. Utility site visits require walking on uneven ground around energized equipment and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Ability to work around utility infrastructure including gas lines and electrical equipment.
  • Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting low levels of tight utility project deadlines and regulatory timelines. Exposed to utility construction site conditions which can include loud noise dust fumes energized electrical equipment natural gas facilities and extreme weather conditions. May work various hours including emergency response situations early mornings evenings and weekends during utility outages or critical infrastructure projects.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$139333.00 - $195067.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role level geographic location relevant education training or experience among other factors.
