Public Policy Manager, KSA, International Public Policy

The Head of Public Policy KSA will will join a growing and dynamic team that works across Europe Middle East Africa India and Asia Pacific in support of Amazons global consumer and digital businesses. Like our business interests our policy issues are broad forward-thinking and driven by what is best for our customers. The International Public Policy team works with a wide range of national local and supranational policymakers industry organizations and non-governmental organizations across numerous policy issues spanning the consumer and commercial environment.

Job responsibilities

As Head of Public Policy KSA you will be responsible for working with policymakers and non-governmental groups in support of our consumer-centric business model within the country. You will have an astute understanding of the public policy and regulatory environment as well as the key stakeholders within it. You will coordinate across Amazons business locally and globally to develop and implement positioning and engagement strategies.

You will help design external advocacy efforts outreach programs partnerships and initiatives in support of these business objectives. You will help coordinate Amazons engagement with relevant industry associations and wider coalitions and manage consultancy support. You will be able to build solutions for solutions for complicated business problems and provide clear and confident guidance including in situations of high ambiguity. You will be confident but are also able to operate respectfully and collaboratively within wider regional and international structures.

- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law Political Science Public Policy Public Affairs Economic Development)
- 10 years of public policy experience
- Speak write and read fluently in English
- Speak write and read fluently in Arabic

- An advanced degree in a related public policy field is preferred.
- Experience working at a high level and collaboratively in a highly-matrixed environment alongside teams including Legal PR and business teams.
- Experience of public policy in consumer-facing technology or retail companies.
- Project management experience.
- Outstanding oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Able to coordinate a wide array of internal and external resources to obtain process and operationalize information and strategy.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Capable of confidently using experience and data to assess and recommend a best course of action even in an ambiguous situation.
