JOB TITLE: Certified Athletic Trainer
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director
GENERAL DUTIES SUMMARY:
The duties of the certified athletic trainer include but are not limited to prevention evaluation
documentation education immediate care referrals coordination of care of athletic injuries and
communicating with doctors coaches athletes and parents.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide and assist in the coordination of activities that include injury prevention immediate
assessment/evaluation/treatment of injuries and triage of injuries.
Assist the athletic director as requested.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION FUNCTIONS AND CAPABILITIES
Bachelors of Science degree in health-related field
NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
Registration through State of Oregon
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare providers -or-
American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
For Medical Professionals
Ability to pass background check
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Possible lifting bending walking kneeling stretching and stooping
Mobility strength visual and auditory acuity adequate for immediate response to athletes needs
May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during portions of work day
Ability to handle high amounts of stress
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions in the Collective
Bargaining Agreement between Tigard-Tualatin School District 23J and Oregon School Employees
Association Chapter 51.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a ten-month assignment on the N range of the Classified Salary Schedule. The assignment of
the step will be in compliance with the current Collective Bargaining agreement and range of pay is
located in the current Classified Salary Schedule.
A new employee shall be allowed up to four (4) years of experience on the salary schedule based on actual years of experience on a job of like responsibilites and skills. $31.61 per hour.
