We are seeking the immediate hire of aResidential/Combination BuildingInspectorfor Pickens County area in Georgia.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Northeast AreaInspectionManager. They will beresponsiblefor performing dailyinspectionson residential andcommercial constructionprojects and other assignments as directed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs scheduled assignments between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday Friday
- Completes daily duties responsibly and safely with respect to private and personal property.
- Readily communicates with staff citizens teammates and builder/contractors as necessary.
- Maintainsdetailedrecords and reports of allinspectionsand compliance cases.
- Assists client staff and team members whenever necessary.
- Updates files answersphone calls andschedulesinspectionsas necessary.
- Maintains ICC certifications and professional credentials. Securesadditional ICC certifications attendstrainingopportunities and consistentlystudiescodes and standards as related to work requirements.
Requirements:
We will consider any equivalent combination ofeducationtraining and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities needed for this job.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. We prefer supplemental additionaltrainingin buildinginspection structuralengineering or a related field. An Associates Degree inengineering architecture buildinginspection or related field or equivalent ICC certification level is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum (3) years experience as aresidential constructioninspectoris required. We prefer at least one (1) year of this experience to befocusedonerosion andsediment controlinspections.
- Certifications:ICC Residential CombinationInspector(required). ICC CommercialInspectorCombination (preferred). GSWCC Level IBInspector(preferred).
- Must have a validGeorgia drivers license.
Required Knowledge Abilities & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of building and related municipal codes buildinginspectionmethods and techniques andconstructionmaterials methods and techniques.
- Understandingof erosion andsedimentationcontrol laws and BestManagementPractices.
- Excellent communication skills bothwrittenand oral.
- Ability to operate work-related technology (laptop tabletiPhone) and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Capable of following directions and asking pertinent clarifying questions.
- Maintains a professional appearance attitude and conduct.
- Self- disciplined and able to work without direct supervision. Works well with people and performs as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Solves problems and has apositive attitudewhile establishing and maintaining relationships.

- The starting wage range for this role commences at $32-$38.50/hour which is subject to potential increases that are contingent on factors like experience education licenses or certifications.
