Qualifications
Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works under the direction of an RN or LPN and is responsible for providing clinical support services to ensure efficient and effective patient care. This includes monitoring patient conditions assisting with procedures and supporting both medical and behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain and record patient vital signs accurately
Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
Perform EKGs and support diagnostic testing
Maintain clean and organize medical equipment
Collect and document patient data for quality improvement initiatives
Follow all safety security and infection control protocols
Collaborate with nursing medical and custody teams
Qualifications
Current Medical Assistant certification (Georgia preferred)
Active CPR or BLS certification
Minimum of 3 years of experience in ER behavioral health or corrections
Strong clinical skills with attention to detail and patient safety
Ability to obtain security clearance through GADOC including drug screen and background check
