The Risk & Compliance (R&C) function is HSBCs Second Line of Defence responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Groups businesses to ensure effective risk management. With a global headcount of 14000 and annual costs of $1.5bn R&C is evolving its operating model requiring robust oversight administration and management. This role is pivotal in supporting the R&C CAO CoE driving operational excellence and enabling strategic objectives in a dynamic highly scrutinized environment.

The role holder will be required to interact with many internal and external parties at the highest level of management and therefore needs an outstanding level of professionalism and gravitas.
The individual is responsible for ensuring robust financial forecast using Anaplan supporting the delivery of the R&C functions objectives and maintaining high standards of governance and control. The role holder will collaborate with global regional and business line stakeholders to deliver consistent high-quality management information support forecasting management and drive process improvements.
As a AVP Anaplan Manager within the R&C CoE you will provide dedicated forward-thinking financial and operational management support to LoBs and Global R&C Sub-functions. The role will focus on maintaining and enhancing the Anaplan platform supporting headcount planning processes and providing management information to senior stakeholders across global and regional teams.
You will work closely with the R&C CAO CoE leadership team and collaborate with Finance HR and business stakeholders to ensure accurate workforce planning forecasting and reporting. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes while supporting the delivery of consistent and high-quality management information.

The individual will be required to share best practice globally influence stakeholder teams in a positive manner and manage a team. Some of the key responsibilities include:
Anaplan Product Support
- Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the Anaplan system used for workforce planning across Risk & Compliance.
- Assist with system enhancements model updates and configuration changes in collaboration with global stakeholders.
- Participate in working groups and projects aimed at improving Anaplan capabilities and planning processes.
- Global scenario modelling for R&C for outer years including headcount and cost modelling
Anaplan Management and Forecasting/Reporting
- Perform annual planning exercise in line with the Group FRP and workforce demand planning processes
- Plan and manage central monthly forecasting for all R&C Sub-Functions and Regions
- Maintain forecasts through monthly updates from golden source data
- Review of month-end actuals GHA report and update Anaplan
- Attrition central methodology updates
- Efficiency tracker data load onto Anaplan
- Load TM1 Data on WD 10 for Actuals / Forecast / Targets
- Rate Card calibration
- Management of individual models (e.g. Headwinds efficiencies Boundary changes/handshakes)
- Perform reporting to enable senior management insight/action and to support financial forecasting
- Reporting and Analysis of month-end actuals vs Forecast
- Anaplan MPP Live Headcount Lock/snapshot
- Headcount Model Updates
- MI of forecast of HC and Direct Costs comparing Anaplan monetised dollar vs Tm1 budget
Management Reporting
- Produce regular reporting and management information related to Forecast headcount workforce trends and financial metrics.
- Assist with reconciliation of forecast versus actual results and provide analysis to support management discussions.
- Support the preparation of reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders including Finance HR and business management teams.
- Respond to stakeholder queries and support data analysis related to workforce planning.
- Contribute to discussions around process improvements and system enhancements.
Team Management & Coordination
- Act as de facto deputy to the VP Anaplan Manager managing and coordinating team priorities goals and objectives.
- Serve as point of contact in the VPs absence.
The role holder will need to be dynamic and service oriented with a can-do attitude. It will be a critical element to ensure that the individual can prioritise and ensure it meets the ongoing needs.

Knowledge & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of developing and managing the Anaplan System as well as the corresponding workforce demand planning/management processes is a must for this role.
- Excellent business management experience in a large and complex organisation
- Strong Financial background and experience essential with a deep understanding of different aspects of costs and headcount within a global organisation and evidence of delivery in a similar global role
- Strong relationship management with senior stakeholder and the ability to work with individuals at different levels
- Ability to quickly understand stakeholder requirements and concerns and deliver a quality result on time and with high attention to detail
- Can Do attitude with the ability to deal with ad-hoc requests/tasks
- Self-reliant with the ability to prioritise and manage stakeholder expectations
- Effective written and spoken communication skills in English and strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Line management experience
Experience
- Demonstrated success in budgetary management resource management financial planning and executive reporting.
- Proven track record in delivering performance improvement and applying innovative thinking.
- Experience managing customer and stakeholder issues in a matrix organisational context.
- Global project management experience.
- Strong understanding of evolving risk environments.
- Strong performance as a leader of high-performing teams in a similar matrix environment
