Job Summary
Space Monitoring Specialist – Job Responsibilities
Satellite Monitoring & Reporting
-
Monitor satellites in Geostationary and Non-Geostationary Orbits visible from the Space Radio Monitoring Center (SMC). This includes tracking the following parameters:

Orbital Position
-
Power Flux Density
-
Center Frequency
-
Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP)
-
-
Generate and submit daily activity reports detailing monitoring investigations and share them with the Operational Lead.
Interference Investigation & Resolution
-
Plan and conduct investigations to geolocate interfering sources using:
-
Fixed Monitoring Stations
-
Mobile Monitoring Systems
-
Last Mile Detection Systems
-
Terminal Auditing & Database Maintenance
-
Perform audits on all VSAT and other satellite terminals.
-
Maintain an accurate and updated database of all space terminals operating within Qatar.
Monitoring Center Operations
-
Draft operational guidelines for efficient functioning of the SMC Monitoring Center.
-
Coordinate and support the maintenance of a comprehensive frequency reference database.
-
Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders during ongoing monitoring operations at events.
Spectrum Monitoring & Enforcement
-
Conduct fixed and mobile spectrum monitoring to ensure frequency users and licensees comply with:

National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP)
-
ITU Radio Regulations
-
Licensing conditions
-
-
Detect and investigate spectrum violations including harmful interference and recommend corrective measures.
Field Monitoring & Technical Operations
-
Operate portable monitoring tools (e.g. spectrum analyzers) to detect interference sources.
-
Execute data collection through drive tests and walk tests in accordance with the Network Audit Monitoring Plan.

Operate and verify data integrity using drive test tools.
