Job Summary

Position Summary

Tulane University School of Medicines John W. Deming Department of Medicine is seeking an Endocrinology and Metabolism Researcher to join the faculty. This is a full-time position within the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The successful candidate will contribute to the research and academic missions of the institution through scientific discovery mentorship and collaboration with trainees and junior investigators and securing external funding to support and grow research programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Scholarship: Conduct scientific experiments present and publish findings and secure sponsored funding to support and expand research.

  • Education & Mentorship: Train and mentor students and early investigators.

  • Institutional Collaboration: Engage with and collaborate with the broader university community. Access pilot grant programs and other collaborative research opportunities.

These responsibilities may vary from time to time and will be assigned by the Section Chief of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

  • Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Ph.D. in a relevant biological science field with a focus on molecular mechanisms of endocrine diseases metabolism or basic endocrinology

    • Postdoctoral research experience

    • Established or potential for establishing a strong externally funded research program

    • Established publication record

    Preferred:

    • Externally funded research

    • Commitment to education research and innovation
