Job Summary:The Personal Trainer instructs clients in individualized fitness programs. Designs programs based on the medical history goals and current fitness level of the client.
Additional Department Summary:Works under the supervision of the Fitness Program Coordinator to design safe and effective personal training programs for individual clients adapting the strength training program to each patrons specific needs and abilities. Instructs patrons in the strength training principles training procedures and exercise techniques in a fun safe and effective manner that meet University Recreation guidelines and provides an encouraging and motivating environment while helping participants to achieve their fitness goals. May also be assigned to train partner/multiple-client sessions or group personal training instruction.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Personal training certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization (CSCS ACE ACSM Corrective Exercise Specialist etc.).
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Valid NCCA-recognized personal training certification (such as NSCA ACE NASM ISSA or ACSM). Must have current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) weeks of employment.
