The Literacy tutor works side by side with the school reading specialists to help students improve early literacy skills
including phonemic awareness and fluency.
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also
acceptable.
Education
High school diploma; Bachelors Degree preferred
Experience
NA
Licenses and Certifications
Teacher licensure in grades K-8 preferred. License must be an active Virginia license to receive the licensed rate.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to relate to children teacher and other school staff
Knowledge of educational evidence-based best practices in education
Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this job:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn recall and apply
certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry
push pull or otherwise move objects.

Salary Range:Band 12 $32.00-Non Licensed Band 15 $39.14-Licensed
