Position Summary
Lauren Services is seeking aIntermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineerwith a minimum of 6 years of experience and a valid designation. This role involves leading and supporting the design and execution of bothinstrumentationandcontrol systemsfor industrial projects in the Oil & Gas Power and Petrochemical sectors. The position is hybrid with flexible hours and offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of I&C engineering deliverables including:
- Instrument indexes loop diagrams wiring and termination drawings
- Control panel layouts and control system architecture diagrams
- Analyze P&IDs and process documentation to inform instrumentation and control strategies
- Specify and select field instruments and control devices based on process and design requirements
- Develop control philosophies cause & effect matrices and system narratives
- Support field activities including site visits commissioning and start-up
- Prepare material specifications data sheets and conduct technical bid evaluations
- Review vendor documentation for compliance with instrumentation and control requirements
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (CEC ISA CSA API etc.)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers designers and project managers
- Maintain compliance with Laurens health safety and quality management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer () in good standing
- Minimum 8 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within Oil & Gas or EPCM environments
- Strong knowledge of field instrumentation control devices DCS/PLC systems and control panel design
- Experience with control system architecture and integration
- Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant industry standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Project management experience is an asset

This role is on-site based in the clients office in Surrey British Columbia.
