Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse PACU
Location: Petaluma CA
Type: Travel/Local Contract
Shift: Day Shift 08:00 AM 04:30 PM
Schedule: 5x8 Hours
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview:
The PACU RN provides comprehensive post-anesthesia care across Phase I and Phase II recovery including pre-op and recovery support in an acute care hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery
Provide pre-op and post-op nursing care and education
Manage airway ventilation and respiratory status
Administer medications including sedation and emergency drugs
Perform pain assessment and management
Collaborate with surgical and interdisciplinary teams
Assist with discharge planning and instructions
Document all care in EPIC EMR
Float across PACU pre-op and recovery units
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year PACU experience Required
Active California RN License Required
BLS ACLS and PALS Required
ICU or ED experience preferred
Strong skills in post-anesthesia recovery and patient monitoring
Experience with EPIC EMR Required
Ability to work in high-acuity fast-paced settings
Willingness to float and work on-call shifts
