The Data Engineering team at Roblox is responsible for the most highly leveraged core datasets to support the growing demand for analytics reporting experimentation and machine learning applications.

Were looking for an engineering leader with deep expertise owning and operating performant data models and pipelines to support product analytics at petabyte this role you will manage a centralized Data Engineering team with a large scope covering every product group at Roblox. You will be responsible for growing the team through hiring and up-leveling the existing engineers establishing best practices and standards for data quality and reliability and leading cross-team efforts to unlock the value of analytics data. This role is highly cross-functional requiring close collaboration with Data Science Experimentation and Machine Learning teams to understand customer requirements and analytics applications as well as with Data Infrastructure and Storage teams to develop scalable solutions for more efficient and reliable data processing.

You Will:

• Lead and grow centralized team of Data Engineers to support Robloxs expanding and evolving Analytics data needs.
• Establish best practices and standards for data modeling data operations data quality and reliability and data lifecycle management. Ensure rigor through code review and unit test / data quality coverage.
• Partner with cross-functional leads in Data Science Product and Engineering to understand business needs and develop analytics solutions to support them.
• Design build and maintain efficient and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines to support core data sets.
• Develop scalable frameworks and tooling to automate analytics workflows and streamline users interactions with data products.

You Have:

• Leadership Experience: 5 years managing a Data Engineering team.
• Data Engineering Expertise: 8 years of professional experience building multi-terabyte datasets and ETL pipelines on industry standard ETL orchestration tools and execution engines with deep expertise in SQL and PySpark. You are comfortable designing new core datasets debugging and optimizing complex business logic and leading incident response for operational issues.
• Product Analytics Breadth: proven track record building end-to-end analytics solutions to support Data Science Experimentation and Machine Learning applications.
