2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
3. Must possess organizational skills have knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and ability to work
effectively with staff visitors and students
4. High level of computer skill preferred
5. Knowledgeable of FPS District functions a plus
Employment: Full time 8 hours per day 12 months
Salary: $17.32 - $19.12 per hour (starting) depending upon experience.
If bilingual (English/Spanish) starting rate is $19.12 - $21.11 per hour depending upon experience.

Certification/Licensure:

- Effective oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to keep moderately complex records to assemble and organize data and to prepare reports from the records kept and data compiled.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Basic:
Work involves performance of varied clerical and secretarial duties which involve a high degree of independent judgement. Work also involves performance of complex office duties and some delegated administrative details. The job entails exercising discretion in performing office duties keeping informed of unit or District policies rules and regulations. Work assignments are typified by considerable range and complexity of assigned duties and the initiative and independence expected. Work assignments are received in general form and are performed with independence. Operation of an alphanumeric keyboard is an integral part of the essential functions of this job.
Frequent:
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to perform and fulfill assigned duties as designed by the supervisor.
- Types letters memoranda reports purchase orders minutes of meetings teacher evaluations and examinations working rough drafts recorded dictation verbal instructions or established procedures.
- Maintain filing systems and financial records and reports; compiles information and statistics for use in reports and budget preparation; orders maintains and distributes supplies and materials; maintains ledger making entries and distribution costs to accounts.
- Makes receives and screens telephone calls and visitors; assists students faculty and the public at the front desk or counter; answers questions or refers to appropriate parties; arranges and schedules meetings as requested; assists with student registration.
- Operates photocopying machines to duplicate tests reports and other documents; prepares materials for distribution.
- Assembles student records relating to attendance and discipline; receives and places telephone calls regarding student absences; enters daily attendance information into computer file and prepares report.
- May assist students with information and materials; answer questions regarding college information and maintain college reference materials.
- May supervise student aides and monitor student behavior in a study hall and cafeteria.
- Prepares agenda for meetings prepares and distributes meeting notices.
- Performs related work as required.
