Description

Purpose of Role

The Assistant Director of Events performs key functions of supporting the Events Sales department with the revenue generation within the hotel with a focus on Meetings and Events lead generation and conversion maximising all sales opportunities and exceeding all KPIs per annual hotel plan.

The Assistant Director of Events assists the director in interfacing with the hotel management (Director of Sales & Marketing General Manager) to report on operational statistics personnel issues sales and service performance as well as cost and cash flow analysis related to departments if required.

Responsibly Description
- To oversee / supervise Events Sales team and ensure sales goals business objectives and department profitability have been achieved in the absence of Director of Events.

- To assist the director in developing sound financial projections and managing cost control.

- To assist the director in mediating problems implementing correction plan and handling customer complaints.

- To assist the director in creating training programmes and conducting regular updates / refresher training sessions.

- To assist the director in developing and executing W Happenings.

- To assist the director in developing the internal / external marketing plans and events packages / programs.

- To liaise with the Director of Revenue Management on rate strategies and market intelligence.

- To liaise with other departments as necessary and represent the best interests / requirements of the Events Sales department

- To keep the department functioning smoothly by ensuring that team members operate with peak efficiency through coordination communication and cooperation.

- To ensure comprehensive use of Delphi and 100% accuracy to maximise Events Sales efficiency.
