Job Summary

Mail:-

A Fire Fighting Site Engineer plans installs and maintains fire protection systems (sprinklers alarms hydrants) at construction sites ensuring compliance with safety codes (e.g. NFPA) and project specifications. They supervise installations conduct testing and commissioning and coordinate with teams to ensure high-quality on-time project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Installation: Overseeing the installation of fire suppression and detection systems to ensure they align with approved drawings and methods.

Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all systems comply with local fire safety regulations Civil Defence requirements and NFPA standards.

Testing & Commissioning: Conducting inspections functional testing and commissioning of fire alarms pumps and sprinkler systems.

Project Documentation: Preparing daily/weekly progress reports Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).

Material Management: Monitoring on-site material stock initiating material requests and ensuring quality control.

Team Coordination: Distributing work to technicians/labourers and coordinating with subcontractors and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience: Usually 38 years of experience in fire fighting and protection systems.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire protection systems including sprinkler systems fire pumps and suppression systems.

Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Communication: Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.

International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC)

Common Job Requirements

Knowledge of local and international fire safety codes (NFPA NBC).

Often requires a driving license.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems under pressure
