The Opportunity

Cordova is seeking a specialized Agile Business Analyst with a focused background in Guidewire Cloud. This is a cross-functional role that bridges the gap between complex insurance business logic and technical execution. You will be embedded within an Agile development team working at the user story level to ensure that product enhancements meet the precise needs of our stakeholders and customers.

We are looking for a professional who understands the nuances of the Guidewire ecosystem and can navigate the shift to Cloud-based insurance operations. You will act as a consultant to decision-makers providing the research and data required to shape product roadmaps and refine business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & User Story Management

• Detailed Elicitation: Capture and translate high-level business requirements into granular user stories technical specifications and clear acceptance criteria.

• Product Ownership Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners and SMEs to map out business flows and identify critical process improvements.

• Artifact Integrity: Create and maintain the technical and functional documentation that serves as the blueprint for development.

Agile Team Collaboration

• Sprint Participation: Actively contribute to Scrum ceremonies providing the business voice during sprint planning reviews and retrospectives.

• Team Facilitation: Use strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts within the development team.

• Agile Planning: Utilize tools like Azure DevOps (preferred) Jira or Rally to manage the application lifecycle.

Quality & Testing Support

• Test Case Definition: Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to identify and write detailed requirements for test cases ensuring they align with business intent.

• Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all deliverables meet technical testing standards and maintain a high level of accuracy to avoid productivity loss.

The Ideal Candidate

Must-Have Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

• Tenure: 23 years of dedicated experience in business analysis or project management.

• Specialized Expertise: Direct experience with Guidewire Cloud and Agile Business Development.

• Agile Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Guidewire Domain: Familiarity with Guidewire PolicyCenter.

• Insurance Knowledge: Understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) rating policy coverages and endorsements.

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of SQL and familiarity with CI/CD principles.

• Software Tools: Experience with Azure DevOps JIRA or Rally.
