Job Summary

Supply Chain manages all aspect of procurement for the entire corporation. We provide the opportunity to be a part of a diverse team that purchases a wide range of products and services including IT specialized equipment facilities services and engineering design research and development consultants services and construction. As the purchasing agent you will provide your experience and understanding of Sourcing and Procurement of direct (under US Government Prime Contract) goods and services.

As the Direct Subcontracts Buyer (Subcontract Administration Staff II) you will be responsible for managing the complete procurement cycle for direct goods and services under U.S. Government Prime Contracts including conducting formal market analysis developing contract strategies and pricing models leading RFIs/RFPs/RFQs through supplier selection and negotiation awarding best-value contracts documenting procurement packages in accordance with FAR and company policies and implementing continuous supplier evaluation and cost management procedures.

The selected candidate willbe requiredto workfull-timeon-site at our facility with available locations inEl Segundo CA.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Administer sourcing and procurement of direct (under US Government Prime Contract) goods and services for The Aerospace Corporation
  • Evaluate and improve sourcing activities analyzing current suppliers and cost
  • Complete formal market analysis to investigate market behaviors trends and influences on the category requirement
  • Identify the best contract approach pricing model and category management governance
  • Lead RFIs RFPs RFQs RFSs supplier/source selection negotiation and awarding best value
  • Implement procedures to continuously evaluate suppliers costs and deliverability
  • Document the procurement package in accordance with FAR and company policies and procedures

What You Need to be Successful

MinimumRequirements for theSubcontract Administration Staff IIinclude:

  • Bachelors degreefrom an accredited college/university programin Business Administration or related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
  • 0-1 year of industry work experience
  • Foundational knowledge of or strong interest in learning government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Demonstrated strong work ethics and proactive solution-oriented approach to challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Professional maturity with the ability to remain composed and adaptable in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
  • Eagerness to learn the entire procurement lifecycle from requisition through contract closeout
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Any exposure to SAP S4/HANA or Ariba procurement systems
  • Coursework or training in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or government contracting
  • Internship or academic project experience in aerospace defense or government contracting industries
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in fast-paced environments
  • Project management coursework or experience

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
