Job Summary
Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an experienced driven and relationship-oriented individual for the role of Senior Tactical Analyst with the Business Standards and Operational Support Unit. This is a key role within the larger Protective Services Team that provides analytical support for the operational elements of the entire organization as it relates to patient and public safety concerns. The successful candidate will collaborate and consult with various stakeholders internal and external to AHS to ensure Protective Services operations are completed with best practices in mind and that the processes are aligned with AHS mission vision values and core objectives. The Tactical Analyst provides high-quality support to all work areas that are engaged in a client-centered and patient-focused integrated services delivery model. This individual will serve as a role model in establishing a culture of service and performance excellence for operational standards within Protective Services and AHS as a whole. The position location will be based on the candidate selection out of Edmonton Central or Calgary Zone areas. This posting is for two positions. The anticipated start dates are May 2026 for the first position and August 2026 for the second position.
Description:
The Tactical Investigative Intelligence Analyst is responsible for identifying and reporting on patterns trends and other indicators that exist in the health care environment that relate to organizational security and safety. The Tactical Investigative Intelligence Analyst will provide analytical support for the operational elements of the Protective Services Division all across Alberta. This includes supporting the Protective Services operational front-line as well as administrative and leadership teams. A Tactical Investigative Intelligence Analyst is vested with the responsibility of supporting immediate field-level operations by analyzing interpreting and disseminating real-time data on threats criminal activity and public safety indicators. A Tactical Investigative Intelligence Analyst liaises with Government policing and intelligence resources in support of AHSs commitment to safety and security in the workplace. A Tactical Investigative Intelligence Analyst also creates reports and documents that describe and illustrate the trends or situations at hand to inform leadership and aid in decision-making.

University degree in Economics Statistics or Sociology or related field. Three (3) years of demonstrated research and analytical experience within a law enforcement/security context.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge and ability to utilize contemporary analytical tools such as but not limited to ArcGIS and i2 with excellent command in the utilization of open-source intelligence gathering. Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive documents that assess the nature distribution and drivers of security and safety issues for Protective Services management including experience to present and analyses in a court of inquiry or related proceeding. Demonstrated ability to provide analytical support for complex investigations assisting multiple stakeholders and working with large data sets. A strong command of data Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes is required alongside the skillsets for subsequent analysis and interpretation. Demonstrated track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Government and policing partners. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that serves many stakeholders. Comfort in presenting analysis products to large groups and executive leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Economics Statistics Sociology or related field.
