Position Summary

As a Ticket Taker you will be the first point of contact for event guests responsible for ensuring a smooth entry process while providing excellent customer service. Your role involves verifying tickets guiding guests and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong interpersonal skills attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A Ticket Taker plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for all event guests.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00.

For Part-Time roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

This position will remain open until July 24 2026.

About the Venue

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events such as athletic competitions cultural arts showcases concerts theater performances educational activities fairs exhibits as well as public and private gatherings including conventions convocations trade shows and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy. The Complex is made up of nine venues the largest being the renowned 22000-seat First Horizon Coliseum which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney Garth Brooks and Elvis Presley as well as todays biggest artists like Drake Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift. The Complex also includes the 167000-square-foot Special Events Center encompassing three exhibition halls a 4500-seat mini-arena and eight meeting rooms. Additionally theres the White Oak Amphitheatre Piedmont Hall the Novant Health Fieldhouse the Greensboro Aquatic Center The Terrace the ACC Hall of Champions and the 3000-seat Odeon Theatre. As one of the most actively booked facilities in the country the Greensboro Complex annually hosts over 1100 events. Its extraordinary flexibility and reputation have earned it worldwide acclaim among promoters producers event planners and patrons alike.

Responsibilities

  • Check and validate tickets at the entrance ensuring each ticket is legitimate and corresponds to the event.
  • Greet guests warmly answer questions and provide information about the event and venue as needed.
  • Monitor and control the entry points to ensure that only authorized guests enter the event.
  • Assist in directing the flow of guests to prevent congestion and ensure a smooth entry process.
  • Address any ticket-related issues or discrepancies promptly and courteously seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
  • Stay informed about the event layout seating arrangements and facilities to assist guests effectively.
  • Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Help guests with special needs or requirements ensuring they have a positive experience.
  • Work closely with other event staff to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience.
  • Ensure guests follow venue rules and guidelines to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience within sports entertainment or a related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends nights and holidays as required.
