Job Summary

POSITION TITLE: Materials Coordinator STATUS: Non-exempt

DEPARTMENT: Material Control
REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for the material in the Vault this includes but is not limited to checking the metal in and out tracking metal organizing material performing inventory completing reports and assisting others as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Physically check metal in and out of Vault as needed complete appropriate paperwork inventory product
  • Organize daily orders for various departments and deliver metal as necessary
  • Organize and maintain Vault to meet the immediate needs of the manufacturing plant
  • Perform all functions necessary for receiving material including maintaining receiving records recording transactions ensuring all required documentation accompanies shipments and delivers received materials to the appropriate department as required
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory through cycle counting procedures and timely recording of all inventory transactions
  • Ensure all materials and/or jobs leaving the area are accompanied by the appropriate documentation
  • Train other personnel as necessary provide guidance for others when Manager not available
  • Receives and maintains all materials in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Communicates regularly with Customer Service and Manufacturing
  • Fill in for Shipping/Receiving as necessary
  • Other duties as necessary

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read write and communicate effectively. Basic math skills at a high school level
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to details
  • Ability to accurately track material and fill out reports
  • Good organizational skills sets priorities meets deadlines able to multi-task
  • Good computer skills
  • Must be bondable
  • Must be reliable and dependable; ready and able to work at the start of each shift
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

Please note that employee must be able to be at work on time and ready to work at start of shift each day.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


High School Diploma or GED and/or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in shipping and receiving and inventory control preferred. Previous experience with a forklift preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:.

Ability to read write do basic math and communicate effectively.

While performing the duties of this job the Employee is regularly required to stand bend or kneel. The Employee is continuously required to use hands and arms to reach finger handle or feel objects and controls. The Employee is regularly required to walk talk and hear.

The Employee must regularly lift 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

As a Material Control Lead an Employee will work in a moderate environment. The noise level in the work environment varies depending upon project hearing protection is required on Manufacturing floor not within the Vault area. Additional safety equipment may be required.
