Mercy Home for Children is a nonprofit agency that provides comprehensive care to 108 individuals with intellectual and developmentally disabilities. We are focused on hiring a Coordinator of Support Programs to report to the Sr. VP of Operations. Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Sr. VP of Operations the Coordinator of Support Programs will promote and coordinate the agencys community support portfolio of services to include all grant-funded enrichment programs Creative Arts and other Therapeutic Services Day Habilitation Respite Community Habilitation In-home respite gardening. The Coordinator of Support Programs is responsible for ensuring innovative and effective programs through the appropriate support and guidance of staff in the portfolio of Community Support Services. Represents the Agency by promoting and modeling the mission and core values of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Home.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop organize and oversee agency support programs to ensure all agency and other regulatory standards are met.
  • Ensure all support programs are consistent with the Mercy Home mission and core values.
  • Supervise and coordinate services for all participants within the Community Support Programs portfolio.
  • Hold Annual and Semi-Annual meetings for each participant as required by regulatory guidance.
  • Create write and revise the Service and Habilitation Plans for each participant of the Day and Community Habilitation services.
  • Hire & train Day Habilitation staff and complete payroll for all staff under community support programs.
  • Direct and supervise assigned staff including performance evaluations and orientation.
  • Responsible for providing direct project planning/management resources that facilitate the successful submission of key program projects and cooperative agreements.
  • Ensure that all community support programs grant programs and billing documentation are maintained in an organized manner in adherence to the agency Compliance Plan and best practice standard.
  • Participate in the expansion of community Support Programs to maximize service delivery and utilization by screening potential candidates and performing admission processes.
  • Accurately record weekly Medicaid billing documentation to include attendance roster maintenance data entry EVV entries record reviews and bussing logs.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all supervisory meetings and program planning/evaluation meetings.
  • Encourage and promote professionalism in our programs.
  • Hold community unity meetings & participate in Agency and Inter-agency committees/councils events as requested by the supervisor.
  • Act as the liaise with the Development Director/ Grant Manager to provide updates on existing programs and ideas for future endeavors and funding opportunities.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and documenting expenses on grants and enrichment programs.
  • Requires flexibility to orchestra off hour events for the individuals we serve & attend agency fundraisers.
  • All other duties as assigned by the department.

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business and professional literature technical procedures/instructions and governmental regulations.
  • Self-Starting and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to influence people and build strong relationships with individuals parents and co-workers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong skills in both verbal and written communication. Able to exchange information with other people concisely and accurately.
  • PC skillsMicrosoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook)
Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Human Service or related field. Bachelors Degree preferred.

Certification/License:

  • Valid and clean New York State Drivers License.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of experience working in an OPWDD HCBS Waiver Program.
  • Prior supervisory experience in an OPWDD program.
  • Care Management and billing as outlined in OPWDD guidelines.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.
