Accountant

Job Description

A leading organisation is seeking an Accountant to manage both international and local supply and wholesale commercial data including customer invoicing and trade positions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all products secondary income and costs are accurately accounted for while delivering insightful management accounting information to support profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Record and settle international and local trading activities including imports exports affiliates and third-party transactions.
• Capture vendor invoices and manage payment schedules in line with pricing terms and documentation.
• Ensure accurate accounting of duties levies and associated costs.
• Manage customer invoicing including timely billing and issuing of debit/credit notes.
• Perform monthly debtor and creditor reconciliations and clear customer/vendor accounts.
• Support trading deals by ensuring accurate and timeous system capture for costing purposes.
• Assist Treasury with exposure reporting and ensure deals are appropriately hedged.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and ad hoc analysis as required.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements governance standards and company policies.

Requirements:

• NQF Level 6 qualification (Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Commerce Finance or related field).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
• Experience working with ETRM systems is essential.
• SAP system experience will be advantageous.
• Strong reconciliation reporting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure particularly during month-end and financial year-end periods.
