Job Summary

General Responsibilities: Provides leadership coordination and oversight of programs designed to support the social emotional and behavioral success of all students to foster academic achievement.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures the effective delivery of student support services and promotes equitable access to resources across the division.
  • Directly supervises and evaluates coordinators and other student service positions as assigned by the Director of Special Services to ensure high-quality service delivery and alignment with division goals.
  • Collaborate with school and division leaders the student services team staff families and community partners to foster safe inclusive and supportive learning environments.
  • Lead the planning implementation and continuous improvement of student services programs including counseling mental health supports student interventions and alternative education.
  • Provide oversight and support to ensure consistent implementation training and monitoring of disciplinary practices to ensure fairness and equity.
  • Develop implement and monitor policies and procedures in compliance with federal state and local regulations.
  • Provide leadership and professional development for school-based student services personnel.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the behavior support system steering committee to ensure fidelity of systems and implementation across schools.
  • Serve as the Title IX Coordinator for all student-related matters.
  • Analyze student data to identify trends inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school administrators families and community agencies to coordinate services and supports for students.
  • Support crisis response efforts and contribute to the development of safe and supportive school climates.
  • Oversee and evaluate alternative education programming.
  • Establishes procedures for an array of preventative and responsive services for K-12 levels.
  • Oversees and monitorsstudents placed in nontraditional programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and division policies related to student services and discipline.
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Requisite Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the state and federal laws rules School Board policies and division procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in student services within a K12 educational setting.
  • Strong leadership organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MTSS frameworks student discipline practices school counseling student wellness initiatives and special education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with peers teachers administrators and other school division employees.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism confidentiality and sound judgment.
  • Serves as a role model.

Requisite Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in School Counseling Social Work Educational Leadership or related field required.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience preferably within a K-12 school division.
  • Experience in staff supervision and evaluation required.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see read talk hear handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as but not limited to: a personal computer calculator copier and fax machine. Some climbing stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting grasping or repetitive motions required.
