Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) Manager

Company:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) Manager to join our F/A-18 Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team in Patuxent River MD. Note: This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute project and process plans implement policies and procedures and set operational goals

• Acquire resources for projects and processes provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements

• Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports

• Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes

• Manage develop and motivate employees

• Candidate should have a knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical mechanical and systems

• The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design production and support of products services or other deliverables

• Communication with program leadership using a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader temp manager large scale cross functional project/program management or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership

• Experience in a management and/or team lead role in an engineering and/or test environment

• General knowledge of instrumentation data systems and data processing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months

• Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts

• Experience working in a Flight Test environment

• Experience working with Navy/Government customers

• Experience working with flight test instrumentation and data systems

• Experience working with data processing
