BioIVT is a leading global provider of research models and value-added research services for drug discovery and development. We specialize in control and disease-state biospecimens including human and animal tissues cell products blood and other biofluids aiming to improve patient outcomes by coupling comprehensive clinical data with donor samples.
The role offers hybrid working with min. 2 to 3 days at our Burgess Hill site.Proposed start date: June 2026.
Salary: circa 40000 per year

ROLE SUMMARY
TheSourcing & Logistics Managers responsibility is to lead both the Sourcing & Logistics teams in the procurement of biospecimens to customer specifications and the distribution to our clients across the world. This individual will report directly to the Senior Manager EU Distribution Operations and their primary goals are to manage the intercompany external sourcing of biospecimens alongside managing both the inbound & outbound logistics of the Distribution centres. They will serve as an escalation point to resolve any queries or need for clarification on more complex projects by discussion with the customer directly and by using internal resources and expertise. They will be responsible for working directly with the leadership team to provide insight monitor metrics analyse data and offer strategic solutions for improvements within the team. They will provide supervision training and coaching to Sourcing & Logistics team members ensuring that quality health & safety and productivity performance goals are met and that the team is motivated and empowered to deliver consistent high quality services.
Line Management responsibilities: include supervision and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; supporting managers/directors in performance appraisals; reviewing weekly timesheets and time-off requests; providing regular feedback and setting individual goals aligned with team and department goals. Current number of direct reports - Logistics Team (5) and Sourcing Team (3).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead both sourcing & logistics teams ensuring performance targets are met with responsibility for the teams daily planning and workload.
- Coach mentor and empower team members and act as a role model in demonstrating the organisations values.
- Develop and implement improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals and market conditions and communicating sourcing and logistics performance challenges and improvement initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor ongoing supplier performance to mitigate supply chain risk.
- Enable and liaise with operations sales and customer service at BioIVT sites to accurately and efficiently fulfill customer requirements.
- Oversee inventory optimization forecast inventory needs report on inventory status and issues and communicate inventory spending and stock levels to management.
- Accountable for ensuring all supplier information is up to date and work with Quality Assurance to ensure all suppliers are approved.
- Oversee logistics activities including inbound and outbound transportation distribution and delivery coordination ensuring that targets and company KPIs are consistently met or exceeded.
- Manage cost pricing for biospecimen products and negotiate contracts pricing service levels and delivery terms with suppliers and couriers and logistics partners in line with global requirements ensuring optimum outcome for the organization.
- Responsibility for the maintenance of Burgess Hill sites AEO-C accreditation.
- Actively supports the team in achieving targets and act as an escalation point for complex issues and enquiries.
- Assist in the management and planning of large long-term projects.
- Provide insight & report metrics to senior management team. Develop actions plans to recover gaps to plans / budgets. Escalation point for all Sourcing & Logistics related quality events.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Previous experience in leading and managing a team is essential.
- Proven experience with sourcing procurement logisticsor similar roles.
- Experience analyzing supply chain data to support cost performance and risk decisions.
- Relevant life science qualification and or experience (e.g. technical background and technical understanding laboratory and/or medical experience etc.) a plus.
- Salesforce and X3 ERP experience a plus.

- Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service and communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving analytical and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment including scheduling planning prioritization and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office.
- Familiarity with ERP systems shipping/receiving customer order fulfillment and OSHA/DOT regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is a full-time Monday through Friday workweek with general business hours. Office based with an option for hybrid working (2-3 days per week onsite). Travel to other sites is required 4 6 times per year.
