Description

We are hiring for our client a leading engineering manufacturer who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead their design and development function. This Mechanical Engineering Manager role will take ownership of a high-performing team driving the delivery of complex engineering projects from concept through to production.

The successful Mechanical Engineering Manager will play a key role in shaping engineering strategy improving processes and ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliant products within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role:

Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team across multiple projects
Oversee full product lifecycle design validation and release to production
Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and budget
Act as technical authority approving designs and engineering documentation
Drive design reviews verification and validation processes
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimised (DFMA)
Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Work cross-functionally with electrical software sales and aftersales teams
Lead engineering change processes and promote standardisation
Develop team capability through performance management and mentoring

The Person:

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Strong background in heavy equipment vehicle systems or machinery design
7 years leadership experience within an engineering environment
Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks Creo or similar)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes hydraulics and assemblies
Experience managing projects across full product lifecycle
Excellent leadership communication and organisational skills
Commercially aware with a strong problem-solving mindset
