Bismarck Public Schools is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to serve as a part-time GED Tutor at the Adult Learning Center with an estimated start date of August 19 2026.
The GED Tutor will provide instruction to adult learners preparing for the GED test in the areas of Reading Social Studies Math and Science. This position involves working with students of varying skill levels in a small-group setting and adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Position Details:
- Up to 10 hours per week
- Evening classes: 5:307:30 PM two evenings per week
- Additional time for lesson planning and preparation
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to GED subject areas
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning levels
- Monitor student progress and track performance data
- Assist students with online learning platforms and track study hours
- Administer practice tests and support GED test scheduling
- Maintain a structured respectful classroom environment
- Set individualized learning goals for students
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ALC Coordinator
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Mathematics Basic Algebra through Geometry topics
- Knowledge of Science concepts
- Knowledge of Social Studies content
- Knowledge of Reading/Language Arts (RLA) concepts
- Experience working with or teaching adult learners preferred
