The Opportunity
The UK Sports Institute and British Cycling have an exciting opportunity for an Endurance Data & Insights Analyst to work in Manchester.
A snapshot of the role
This UK Sport Institute (UKSI) role operates within the Data & Insights theme of British Cyclings performance support with the overarching objective to help and enable Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) to use data and evidence to generate and answer better questions that will impact the performance of the team.
The Great Britain Cycling Team are one of the UKs most successful Olympic & Paralympic teams. While athletes earn the medals there is a whole Performance Support Team behind them throughout the Olympic cycle developing new best-in-class equipment delivering science-based training programmes and much all aspects of performance support data is the common thread.
This role will play a pivotal part in driving the performance of the Track Endurance and Paralympic disciplines taking on technical responsibilities that go beyond routine data handling. Youll be on the frontline of capturing and transforming cutting-edge data and video from training sessions and competitions delivering powerful insights that fuel the teams pursuit of excellence. Through innovative analysis and hands-on interaction with athletes and coaches you will empower evidence-based decisions that push the boundaries of whats possible in world-class Track Endurance and Paralympic cycling. Youll be answering questions like What makes a good bunch rider What are the winning tactics for a points race or What is a performance winning time for a paralympic event. Your commitment will be crucial in ensuring every fraction of a second and every marginal gain is expertly measured understood and maximised for podium success at LA 2028.
