A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Program and run various CNC vertical machining centers manual grinders lathes and secondary operation equipment

• Prepare machine tool fixtures by analyzing drawings sketches models and engineering or shop specifications

• Use a variety of machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments to compute dimensions and determine tolerances

• Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions revising designs and problem solves as needed

• Monitor and verify quality and safety according to Medtronics standards

The job work hours are: 1stshift

Nice to Have

• 3 years of experience in the manufacture of gages tools fixtures or related machining

• Vertical CNC machining center experience including 3 axis

• Manual machine experience including mills lathes and grinders

• Tool and Die apprenticeship certification or equivalent formal training

• Understands cutting tool geometry and applications

• Reads and comprehends advanced drawings with GD&T

• Use surface plate sine plates and height gage to setup and verify work

• Ability to conceptualize and sketch tools fixtures and gages

• Good interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive enthusiastic attitude

• Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• 2 year technical degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience of relevant experience

• Base knowledge in programming using CAD/CAM software

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
