Position Overview:
The Senior Payroll Coordinator will report directly to the Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Manager within Itrons Global Business Services organization based in Cork Ireland. The role currently offers a hybrid work environment with a competitive remuneration package.
The Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate timely and compliant delivery of payroll for designated countries or entities. This role acts as a key subjectmatter expert providing daytoday payroll support managing complex payroll queries and ensuring strong governance controls and compliance with local statutory requirements.
Role & Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Operations
Endtoend processing of payroll for assigned countries/entities ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with local legislation.
Review and validate payroll inputs calculations and outputs prior to final approval.
Ensure all payroll changes (new hires terminations salary changes benefits bonuses overtime leave etc.) are processed correctly.
Coordinate payroll calendars cutoff dates and statutory submission timelines.
Indirectly lead a payroll team of 2 employees.
Manage Country mailboxes and checklists
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with all statutory tax and social security requirements.
Support internal and external payroll audits providing documentation and explanations as required.
Maintain payroll controls reconciliations and signoff procedures.
Global owner of Legislative and Change Requests for review by management
Stakeholder Management
Act as a primary payroll contact for employees HR Finance and external vendors.
Resolve complex payroll queries in a professional timely and confidential manner.
Liaise with thirdparty payroll providers and ensure service levels are met.
Manage key internal relationships and maintain trackers.
Reporting & Reconciliations
Prepare payroll reports reconciliations and variance analysis for Finance.
Ensure payroll costs are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
Support monthend and yearend close processes from a payroll perspective.
Process Improvement & Support
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes documentation and controls.
Contribute to payroll transitions system enhancements and global initiatives.
Provide guidance coaching and support to payroll team members as required.
Data gathering investigations process reviews and ad hoc requirements
Key Requirements:
Experience
5 years experience in payroll processing preferably within a multinational or shared services environment.
Proven experience managing complex payrolls with multiple pay elements.
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and statutory requirements.
Experience working with thirdparty payroll providers is highly desirable.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and timemanagement skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll systems (e.g. Workday SAP ADP other payroll platforms).
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Education / Qualifications
Payroll or accounting qualification (e.g. IPASS CIPP or equivalent) desirable.
Degree in Business Finance Accounting or related field preferred.
Third Level Education equivalent or above
Proven experience in a global payroll environment
Fluent English.
Any additional language will be an advantage.

Depending on your experience this role is expected to offer between gross 60000 EUR and 70000 EUR annually. We review compensation regularly to stay competitive in the market.
