Job Summary

The School of Music is seeking a full-time scheduling and facilities manager for the Voxman Music Building. This employee will develop and maintain event safety and security protocols and manage facility furnishings and equipment including theatrical sound acoustical and lighting addition this position is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of performance venues and classrooms within the School of Music and providing administrative supervision and support of instrument technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive event planning and scheduling services determine logistical needs and allocate support resources.
  • Determine need for negotiate and coordinate services of university and outside vendors.
  • Coordinate reporting and scheduling of building maintenance and repair projects and supervise the daily operation and maintenance of facilities. Knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
  • Serve as Building Coordinator for Facilities Management.
  • Manage key and locker inventory and check-out procedure.
  • Coordinate the use and maintenance of the Performing Arts vehicle fleet services requestions and drivers license review system. May be asked to drive Performing Arts vehicle to service center.
  • Assist with setup for building events as needed. This may involve carrying folding chairs and tables or loading and unloading boxes up to 25 lbs onto and off of carts.

Education Required:

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in scheduling and/or operations management position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Performing arts or event management experience.
  • Experience supervising student or professional employees
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
