Job Summary
Position Overview
The Pickleball Professional is responsible for the leadership instruction programming and daily
operation of the Clubs pickleball activities. This position plays a critical role in delivering a
consistently exceptional member and guest experience while growing participation across all levels.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and certified pickleball professional with strong teaching
ability team leadership skills and a willingness to manage both on-court programming and
administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Player Development
Provide high-quality private and group instruction for players of all ages and skill
levels.
Lead structured clinics and drills for all skill levels.
Design player development pathways to support long-term engagement and skill
progression.
Offer match strategy coaching and competitive preparation.
Maintain current teaching methodologies consistent with industry best practices.
2. Program Development & Open Play Management
Develop and manage a comprehensive annual pickleball calendar including:
o Social events
o Round robins
o Open play sessions
o Leagues and ladder play
o Member-guest tournaments
o Interclub competition
Oversee and supervise all open play to ensure proper court rotation and member
satisfaction.
Monitor court utilization and recommend adjustments to maximize participation.
3. Team & League Management
Serve as the primary liaison for all club pickleball teams.
Organize and manage teams roster selections and substitutions.
Coordinate match schedules communication and logistics for interclub play.
Provide on-site coaching during matches when appropriate.
Foster competitive excellence while maintaining sportsmanship and club culture.
4. Member Experience & Engagement
Maintain high visibility on courts and at events.
Proactively engage members to build relationships and encourage participation.
Promote a welcoming and inclusive pickleball environment.
Handle member inquiries feedback and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Work collaboratively with the Racquets Committee and Club leadership.
5. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Assist with budgeting revenue tracking and lesson reporting.
Manage lesson scheduling billing coordination and program registrations.
Maintain accurate participation records and performance metrics.
Assist in payroll reporting and court scheduling software oversight.
Support capital planning for pickleball-related equipment and facility improvements.
Ensure courts and equipment are maintained to club standards.
6. Event & Tournament Execution
Plan and execute in-house tournaments and special events.
Coordinate draws scoring systems and officiating as needed.
Collaborate with Food & Beverage and Catering teams for integrated event experiences.
Assist in marketing events through newsletters and club communications.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven competitive pickleball playing background.
Current Pickleball Certification preferred (e.g. PPR IPTPA or equivalent).
Prior experience teaching pickleball in a private club or similar setting preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing leagues teams and organized play.
Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays as required by programming needs.
Proficiency with court scheduling and registration software.
Willingness to perform administrative and operational tasks in addition to on-court
instruction.
