Assistant Head of House (Pastoral Support) - required May 2026
Term time only 37 hours per week 5 inset days
Salary: Grade 6 SCP 18-22: (Actual pro rata salary: 27095 - 28953)

We are seeking a highly articulate communicator who can navigate complex conversations with parents and carers with empathy and clarity. The ideal candidate will be a champion for every child possessing the insight to see potential where others may see barriers. Furthermore you will be a proactive practitioner utilising data to monitor attendance identify emerging trends and implement decisive impactful interventions.

The role will include:

To assist House Heads in ensuring that:

• Daily attendance during am and pm registration is monitored which will include making calls to parents/carers
• The House System is effectively managed.
• Pupils are well behaved.
• Pupils develop a sense of pride both in their particular House and as individuals.
• Oversee attendance for the House promoting good attendance and ensuring registers are properly maintained.
• Actively follow up daily and persistent attendance issues.
• To be a principal port of call for parents/carers in relation to pupil welfare behaviour and barriers to learning.

We are looking for an individual with:

• Good interpersonal skills and able to work as an effective team member.
• Assertiveness discretion and good communication skills.
• Experience of working with young people and/or an understanding of young people.
• The ability to work on their own and show initiative.
• A professional attitude and manner.
• Good knowledge of Google Drive Microsoft Word and Excel (with the ability to adapt to new software packages).
• A First Aid at Work qualification (training can be provided).
