About Opportunity
SLFNHAs Oral Health Services department is seeking an experienced and patient focused independent contractor to support the delivery of comprehensive culturally appropriate oral health care services. Our new and fully equipped dental clinic is located in Sioux Lookout Ontario to better serve First Nation clients from across Kiiwetinoong. The clinic features four operatories with one recovery room charting office digital charting/ radiography panoramic/cephalometric x-ray laboratory sterilization center change and staff room.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to improve access to care and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the First Nations populations in Northwestern Ontario.
The ideal candidate communicates effectively helps patients feel at ease and works both independently and collaboratively with SLFNHAs qualified oral health care team. They have experience delivering other specialized treatments and a willingness to see clients of all ages.
Job Type: Independent Contractor
Location: Sioux Lookout Ontario
Rate of Pay: Competitive Daily Rate
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Requirements:
- Must hold a Doctor or Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited program
- General Dentist License or ability to obtain in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO)
- Authorized to administer Minimal Nitrous
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must have at least two years of clinical experience
- Experience working with First Nations communities exhibiting sensitivity to their history cultures and ideologies
- Experience/familiarity with NIHB Dental Benefits Guide
- Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards (within the last two (2) years)
