Job Summary

The position is for a Pediatric Neurologist Clinician Educator-Scholar who is a nationally recognized clinician and researcher focused on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) a high priority condition with rapidly increasing prevalence in the worldwide population and the target for multidisciplinary efforts here at Yale to uncover the biological/mechanistic bases and to generate interventional opportunities . At present there are no effective medical therapies to mitigate the core symptoms of ASD. Yale has recently received substantial extramural funding to do just that (ARIA Neurosensing Neuromodulation project led by Dr. Murat Gunel Chair of Neurosurgery) and a major unmet need for further developing the team is the absence of a suitably qualified pediatric neurologist. The candidate will become actively involved in the ARIA projects providing clinical and scientific expertise in ASD and will additionally contribute to the broader ASD research community here at Yale by conducting basic-translational studies in partnership with existing investigators and leveraging the core neuroscience strengths throughout the campus. Another important responsibility will be to develop robust clinical and research ties with the prestigious Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) which had been seeking direct pediatric neurology involvement for many years.

Candidate must have a valid medical license and experstise in the field of autism is preferred.
