We arelooking for:

SurgeryVeterinaryAssistant

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7am-4:30pm

Our Surgery team is a fast-paced environment perfect forveterinary professionalsthat are looking for training in multiplefacetsof the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requiresstrong communicationskillstoliaison between surgeons and clients and deliverpost-operative careinstructions.

Whatyoulldo:

Manage appointmentsobtainpatienthistories medical record keeping invoicing patient dischargesetc
Fill medications enter charges andmaintainaccuratemedical records schedule appointments
Create patient releases navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations
Prep patientsfor surgery including shavingscrubbingand positioningassistingwith intubation and radiographs
Proficiently perform blooddrawsandsubmitbloodwork
Ensure documentation isaccurateand complete
Opening turning over and cleaning operating rooms as well as cleaning instruments and wrapping packs

Whoyou are:

Prior veterinary experiencerequiredprevioussurgeryexperience desired
Proficientincalculations(drugs constant rate infusions unit conversions etc.)
Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess a Veterinary Medication Clerk License or the ability to obtain one upon receiving an offer of employment

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $20.75 to $31.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our weekend and overnight caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm base pay $2/hour
Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am base pay $3/hour
Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) base pay $1/hour any applicable differential
