Your role

The Digital Newsroom is seeking a permanent full-time journalist to join its news service.

In this role you will be responsible for writing general news content processing photos videos and audio and proposing clear and engaging news stories for our digital platforms all in compliance with the journalistic standards practices and policies of CBC/Radio-Canada. You must be able to work and react quickly in an environment driven by the unpredictable flow of news.

This position will be based at the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal according to production needs. You must be available to work atypical hours including days evenings nights and weekends.

This position requires full-time on-site presence.

Job requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • Three (3) years of experience in journalism

  • At least one (1) year in digital journalism an asset

Skills:

  • Strong general knowledge

  • Excellent awareness of current events

  • Strong ability to simplify complex topics

  • Excellent command of French

  • Knowledge of English (spoken and written) is an asset

  • Proficiency in digital communication and writing techniques

  • Creativity and ease in exploring new digital formats

  • Good knowledge of social media

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Knowledge of the organizations journalistic standards and practices

Selected candidates will be required to complete the following:

  • Theorical tests

  • Interview
