We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health substance abuse treatment coordination and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We are seeking a Crisis Center Directorresponsible for designing organizing implementing and operating in collaboration with the Crisis Center Medical Director and Chief Clinical Officer the organizations crisis services for mental illness and substance use disorder in the adult population including a secure 72-hour crisis stabilization unit and a walk-in brief intervention crisis clinic. The focus of this position is on meeting the short-term needs of the adult population in crisis with an emphasis on exploring alternatives to hospitalization and incarceration. Design and delivery of services must reflect trauma-informed concepts and models. The services of the center will be delivered on a 24 hour/7days per week basis.
This position is full-time exempt typically scheduled Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The schedule will vary and have on-call requirements in order to adequately supervise the 24/7 program. This assignment is in-person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE Grand Rapids Michigan 49503 with occasional local travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in Social Work Psychology Counseling Counseling Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Master Social Worker Professional Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist; or Limited License Psychologist.
- At least five years of progressively more responsible experience in the provision of mental health services and at least three years of clinical supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated successful experience in program design and implementation.
- Knowledge of co-occurring as well as crisis intervention and treatment methodology.
- Demonstrated successful experience working within an ambiguous fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
- Ability to apply trauma informed principles and values with knowledge decisions and treatment of all people served.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
- Communicate clearly concisely and accurately in both verbal and written form.
- Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MCBAP or other professional substance use disorder certification preferred.
- Certification in one of the following:
- CAADC - Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor
- CADC - Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
- CCS - Certified Clinical Supervisor
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary setting.
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
