Reports to: Program Manager of Fitness & Assistant Director of Facilities & Events Activities & Recreation Center

Hourly Rate: $21.30/hour
This position is Work Study Eligible
Shift Requirements:
Available to work morning shifts starting at 7:45AM and closing shifts ending at 10:15pm
Available to work weekend shifts (Saturdays 9:45AM-3:15pm)
Available to work at least 10 hours a week
Fitness Center Attendantsare responsible forproviding a clean safe and helpful workout environment for users in the Fitness Center. Attendants willassistin proper equipment usage and respond to any incidents or accidents.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe workout environment through constant circulation of the Fitness Center and Studio getting up and walking around every 15 minutes
Ensure all policies and procedures of the facility are enforced
Have knowledge of fitness equipment ARC Programs and services toassistpatrons
Regularly run laundry cycles and complete laundry room maintenance such as cleaning lint screens and laundry carts
Keep the fitness floor clean and make sure all weights and equipment/benches are in their proper place
Check people into the Fitness Center and check in/out any fitness equipment
Equipment inventory and email those with overdue equipment
Clean equipment according to the assigned zone area/schedule and report to Fitness Program Manager
Inspect andmonitorthe facility for safety cleanliness availability of cleaning solutions and towels
Monitor and control access to general facility use and group fitness classes
Be on the floor in proper uniform and ready to work at the start of the shift
Execute emergency procedures when necessary
Report any incident of injury theft or broken equipment to the Fitness Program Manager
Communicate effectively with all peers and supervisors
Objectives:
Support ARC-related programs and pre-/post-event and project support for Activities & Recreation Center Cascadia Student Life and UW Bothell Student Engagement and Activities programming.
General supportfor the operations of the Fitness Center.
Have knowledge of the Fitness Center equipment ARC programs and services toassistpatrons.
Ensure a safe workout environment through constant circulation of the Fitness Center and Studio by enforcing current policies.
Serve as a first responder when emergencies occur within the ARC.
Inspect andmonitorthe facility for safety cleanliness availability of cleaning solutions and towels.
Provide superior customer service for the ARC greet those who enter the facility answer questions through in person inquiry and respond to phone calls and electronic communication.
Provide information on upcoming events and programs building services hours of operation building policies and procedures UBW and CC campus amenities etc.
Answer patron concerns and/or direct them to theappropriate resourceforassistance.

Build and foster collaborative relationships in a diverse environment
Work as a team by communicating effectively with other employees to complete on-shift tasks and responsibilities
Follow detailed instructions and ask relevant questions

Requirements:
Current student at Cascadia College or University of Washington Bothell with at least 6 enrolled credits
Must maintain good academic standing
Must maintain current CPR/AED & First Aid certification
Willing to work early mornings late nights and/or weekend shifts
Attend scheduled staff meetings and complete all required trainings
