Position Summary
The Facilities Engineer PLC / Controls Focus is responsible for the reliability performance and support of PLCcontrolled electrically driven and automated facility and production systems. This role serves as the technical lead for industrial controls automation initiatives and electrically controlled infrastructure ensuring safe and reliable operations while supporting future automation and digital manufacturing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical ownership and troubleshooting support for PLCcontrolled equipment and facility systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and automationrelated failures impacting production safety and equipment reliability
- Lead controlsrelated scope of capital equipment installations commissioning and system integration
- Coordinate with maintenance teams system integrators OEMs and vendors on controls upgrades and repairs
- Support and enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs related to electrical and automation systems
- Maintain PLC programs control documentation electrical schematics and system standards
- Ensure control systems comply with safety regulations internal standards and cybersecurity expectations
- Support continuous improvement automation expansion and future technology initiatives
- Provide handson technical leadership in a manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering OR equivalent IT / Controls Engineering background (required)
- 5 years of experience supporting PLCs and industrial automation in manufacturing or facilities environments
- Handson experience with PLC platforms such as AllenBradley Siemens or equivalent
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems control logic and automated equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot complex controls and automation issues under production conditions
- Strong communication documentation and project coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with system integrators or capital automation projects
- Familiarity with facility infrastructure automation
- Background in manufacturing digitalization or Industry 4.0 concepts
