Position Overview

The Youth Advisory Board Facilitator plays a central role in facilitating the design implementation and delivery of youthcentered internship program. This position is responsible for supporting the development of structured learning experiences that actively engage youth participants in program design leadership development and peertopeer learning.

The Specialist will guide youth through facilitated practices on key focus areas support skillbuilding activities and prepare participants to develop and formally present program concepts and learning outcomes to their peers and stakeholders. This role emphasizes youth voice collaborative learning and experiential education while strengthening participants leadership capacities and professional readiness.

This position is designed as a professional pathway role with opportunities for continued growth and advancement within the organization based on funding availability performance and organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate planning and implementation of a sixweek youthcentered internship program.
  • Lead weekly facilitated sessions using youth development restorative and participatory practices.
  • Support youth in developing program ideas workshop content and presentations aligned with identified themes and community needs.
  • Coach participants in public speaking collaboration critical thinking and peertopeer facilitation skills.
  • Create engaging learning environments that center youth voice leadership and experiential learning.
  • Guide youth participants through the process of preparing and delivering presentations to peers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to align internship outcomes with broader programmatic goals.
  • Maintain documentation of session plans participant progress and program outcomes.
  • Ensure all activities align with organizational values confidentiality standards and youth safeguarding practices.
  • Includes facilitation of a sixweek internship period and weekly peer lead youth groups meeting and one-on-one individual youth success planning

Qualifications

  • Associated degree required; Bachelors prefer with work experience in facilitation education social work public administration community development or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating youth groups internships or leadership development programs.
  • Skilled in curriculum development group facilitation and youthcentered instructional strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support youth presentations and reflection.
  • Commitment to equity inclusion and the amplification of youth voice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced timelimited project environment.
  • Relevant personal experience in terms of recovery and/or justice involvement a plus.

Required

Required regular travel within Monroe County. Travel elsewhere in NYS as needed. The Center for Community Alternatives requires any employee using their automobile on behalf of the company to carry a minimum bodily injury limit of $100000 per person $300000 for each accident and property damage limits of $100000 for each accident.
