The Opportunity:
The University of Central Florida is currently accepting applications for the role of Director Academic Success Coach. The Director Academic Success Coach will have full oversight of the Academic Success Coaching team in the College of Sciences (COS) including supervisory authority quality assurance and performance of coaching staff. The Director will partner closely with academic college leadership including Associate/Assistant Deans and Deans to ensure that continuity of student services and programs are maintained as much as possible and ensure that quality programs remain as consistent as possible within the Academic Success Coaching model.
The Director ASC will also work collaboratively with other Directors ASCs along with other student support and well-being offices across campus to provide the best comprehensive care to UCF students.
This is a full-time year-round position that will include training and development opportunities and a supportive fast-paced exciting working environment dedicated to innovating student success and well-being!
UCFs Coaching Model:
The Academic Success Coach (ASC) role is a newly created exciting position that combines academic advising and academic coaching. ASCs are responsible for maintaining a case load of students and applying coaching methodologies and case management approaches to support students throughout their academic journey. All Directors Assistant Directors and ASCs report centrally in the Division of Student Success and Well-Being.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
Oversee all operational aspects of the college-based Academic Success Coaching team to ensure efficiency and alignment with university goals.
Provide direct leadership mentorship and performance management for a diverse team including Associate Directors Assistant Directors Senior Coaches and Academic Success Coaches.
Direct all facets of staff performance including onboarding the implementation of evidence-based coaching methodologies ongoing training and continuous professional development.
Establish clear expectations and monitor productivity metrics to ensure the highest standards of coaching and student support.
College Partnership & Representation
Serve as the primary ASC representative to the assigned academic college collaborating with Deans and Associate/Assistant Deans to integrate coaching into the colleges retention and graduation strategies.
Ensure the seamless delivery of student services and maintain consistency between college-specific needs and the broader ASC institutional model.
Represent the department on University Division or College-based committees councils and task forces.
Operational Oversight & Policy Development
Establish and execute departmental operational policies while developing strategic plans to implement university-wide advising and coaching initiatives.
Oversee and assess staff utilization of coaching technologies CRM tools and data dashboards to optimize workflow.
Manage daily operations ensuring quality control and adherence to institutional procedures.
College of Sciences (COS) Specific Mandates
Oversee the design and execution of marketing recruitment and advising initiatives including orientations information sessions and college fairs.
Manage the COS advising email systems and student appointment scheduling platforms.
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Students to manage communications regarding unmet degree requirements during the Intent to Graduate review process.
Provide strategic direction and execution for all academic advising activities within the university orientation programming.
Data Analytics & Accountability
Compile and analyze complex data sets to drive decisions regarding student retention persistence and graduation metrics.
Manage the coaching teams progress toward established benchmarks including contact hours appointment volume and term-to-term persistence rates.
Provide routine updates to senior leadership regarding coaching outcomes success rates and operational efficiency.
Partner with other Directors to share data and ensure all program partners are informed of coaching strategies and student success trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree and 8 years of relevant experience including 3 years of leadership experience or Doctoral degree and 6 years of relevant experience including 2 years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in higher education student success academic advising retention coaching programs or related areas.
Progressive leadership experience supervising staff in an academic advising academic success coaching or student support environment.
Experience leading large or complex teams including establishing expectations managing productivity metrics and navigating employee escalations.
Proven ability to leverage data and CRM systems to monitor student engagement evaluate team performance and support datainformed decisionmaking.
Demonstrated success in developing highperforming teams through mentorship training and performance coaching.

Ability to perform duties with a high degree of integrity confidentiality and adherence to professional ethical standards.
Strong communication and presentation skills with experience engaging staff faculty leadership and students.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated annual salary for this position is $88000. New hires selected for this position at the University of Central Florida can expect to be offered the base salary amount for the role. Compensation is determined in alignment with UCFs pay structure and internal equity considerations.
