Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customer Service & Collections Specialist to manage inbound customer interactions coordinate service scheduling and take full ownership of accounts receivable collections. This role is critical in ensuring smooth customer experiences while maintaining strong financial control over outstanding balances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming customer calls in a professional and timely manner
- Schedule and coordinate plumbing service jobs efficiently
- Maintain 100% ownership of customer collections including follow-ups on outstanding payments
- Manage and update accounts receivable records accurately
- Record detailed notes on customer accounts and collection activities
- Communicate with customers regarding billing payment terms and overdue balances
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and job completion tracking
- Monitor aging reports and take proactive action to reduce outstanding debt
Requirements:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle collections professionally and assertively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in bookkeeping
- Prior experience managing accounts receivable and collections
- Background in service-based industries (e.g. plumbing maintenance or field services) is an advantage
Additional Information:
- Salary: R15000 per month
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (EST)
